WXY Architecture + Urban Design is a design and planning firm based in New York City. Focused on social and environmental transformation of the public realm at multiple scales, the firm’s work ranges from new waterfront parks and the New York City water-conserving fountain to the new Sanitation Garage and Salt Shed on the Hudson River and the planning of public school academic assignments. The firm’s architectural design embraces place-specific concepts and sustainable design to create new and repurposed buildings, piers and bridges, and urban furnishings and installations. Their planning work engages local communities and high-level constituencies while building on new analytical GIS and data-based technologies, web-enhanced public forums, and economic development concerns.
The results have included the creative envisioning of new waterfronts, community facilities and urban revitalization efforts. WXY founding partners Claire Weisz and Mark Yoes were joined by architect Layng Pew and, recently, by urbanist Adam Lubinsky. Among other public recognitions, WXY won an AIA New York Chapter 2011 Interiors Merit Award for their NYC Information Center and was selected as one of The League’s Emerging Voices in 2011.

The firm is certified as a women-owned business enterprise (WBE) by New York City, New York State, and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
